This book prepared by Md. Emdadul Huq, a senior officer of the Ministry of Law, provides the first compilation of Bangladesh environmental and pollution control laws implemented and enforced by the Department of Environment. It is one of a series of publications prepared through the Bangladesh Environmental Management Project (BEMP) intended to improve the capacity of the Department of Environment to implement and enforce the Bangladesh Environment Conservation Act, 1995 and other related laws and rules. To enhance its practical value as a working reference, legal texts have been annotated with references to relevant government implementing policies, directives and administrative and procedural orders.
